About Us
Lincolnshire Beekeepers have been in existence for over 160 years. LBKA was one of the first beekeeping associations to form the British Beekeepers Association in 1874. We are a charity and our charitable objectives are
- to encourage, improve and advance apiculture primarily but not exclusively within Lincolnshire, to the public good.
- to advance the awareness of the public in the importance of bees in the environment.
LBKA consists of 10 districts that cover a large area of Lincolnshire. Each district holds meetings throughout the year and courses from beginners’ to more advanced beekeeping.
LBKA has a proactive education team and hold an annual honey show at the Lincolnshire Show.

Members Info
LBKA has several membership options including LBKA membership to Full membership which includes membership of the local district, LBKA, BBKA and insurance through BDI. Junior members also have their own membership.
Bee Essentials
Learning the art of apiculture is a very rewarding hobby. If you are unsure as to whether it is for you LBKA district hold taster days and beginners’ courses usually in the spring. Getting the right equipment is important and the courses will advise you on this. For more information look though the Keeping Bees area on this website.
